Top of pageI know of Fairtrade products in my town/suburb, but they aren't listed on this website. Why?

The information on Fairly Local is constantly growing through the contributions of the community. Fairly Local is not a complete database of every Fairtrade product sold in every store of every suburb in Australia – not yet at least! As such, that means there may be many listings in or near your town/suburb that aren't yet on this website. If you know of some, please add them so that less people ask this question and more people find the information they're after. Unless people from your community at the stores and products they buy from, that information will not be available to the public.

Top of pageWhy can't I find my town/suburb?

We're aiming to have every town/suburb in Australia listed on this website, however since there are ten's of thousands of them we may have missed a few. Chances are, your suburb is one of those few. We're really sorry about this and want to fix it up as soon as possible, so please contact us and let us know of the missing suburb's name, state and postcode.

Top of pageA Fairtrade product I know of is not listed on the Browse Products page. Why?

We've added as many Fairtrade products as we could find, and others are regularly adding new products, but since there is such a large range of Fairtrade products (which we think is really exciting) we may have missed a few. We'd love it if you could help us out by adding the products you think are missing. Please note that a product must be approved before it is available on the website. This approval process ensures that products added to Fairly Local are indeed Fairtrade Certified and not fictitious products, or products that cannot be guaranteed as being fairly traded.

Top of pageCan I add a bulk list of stores all at once?

For many companies/brands, there may be a large list of stores (such as Coles or Woolworths) that would be easier to add all of them at once, rather than adding each store individually. We are working on an option to manage stores in bulk, but in the meantime if you could either an excel spreadsheet, or a .CSV file (comma-separated file), with details in the following order: suburb, state, postcode, store name, store type and address.

Top of pageCan I add a product that I know is ethical, but doesn't have Fairtrade Certification?

At the moment, unfortunately not. As Fairly Local grows we intend to expand to listing products that are ethical yet not Fairtrade Certified, however at the moment it would be too resource intensive to look into every product added to ensure its ethical, and so we're limiting it to Fairtrade Certified products only.

What is BETA testing?

Often when a website is ready to launch, it will be released to the public as a BETA test to receive real world users and their feedback, ensuring that most bugs and hiccups will be overcome before its official release. Find out more...

Since we've only just launched Fairly Local, chances are there are still some bugs and issues to resolve. That why we consider Fairly Local in BETA testing, because we want your feedback as to how you experience the website and what you think would make it better. Remember, this is a website run by the community and depends on your contributions to be effective.
